A roadside waterfall in a mossy gorge, filmed as Ithilien in The Lord of the Rings.
Five minutes from the road the Mangawhero River drops in a broad veil over a dark lava lip into a boulder-filled gorge. The river bed here stood in for the Ithilien forest where Gollum catches fish and Frodo, Sam and Faramir rest in The Two Towers.
